Almavita

Branding   |   Packaging

Almavita is a brand identity project exploring the principles of package design. Through several stages of research and development, a strong foundation was built for this almond milk brand. In later stages of prototyping and iterating, the brand identity was implemented into the design of the packaging.

In addition to the package design, I was tasked with designing a date marking pictogram that would be incorporated into the packaging. This pictogram was designed to be universal, and understandable on any food product.

Research & Brand Strategy

In the research stage of the design process, I took notes from several articles on how to tell a story and build a community around a brand. In addition, I did benchmarking to gather examples and visualize how I could make mine stand out from the rest.

I used this research to identify my target audience, create a brand strategy, and develop a name that would align with the brand identity. Before continuing forward. I ensured the name and domain were available for use.

Packaging Development

After addressing my research findings, I created some sketches to get ideas flowing before bringing my ideas into Illustrator. Using Adobe Illustrator, I created a few different designs for the front of the packaging, incorporating the logo and my brand strategy. After presenting my process in class and receiving feedback, I continued with the third design and refined it.

Further iterated the chosen design and developed the back and sides of the packaging. The previously designed pictogram is also incorporated.
